Move, Play, Learn: Empowering Educators with Physical Activity

Physical activity is important for the growth and development of young children. Trainers and professional development providers can play an important role in implementing evidence-based physical activity practices in ECE settings. Participants will discuss the benefits of physical activity in early childhood and receive guidance for providing professional development opportunities focused on physical activity to early childhood educators. Participants will also explore the current Train the Trainer opportunities focused on physical activity that are available through the Alabama Healthy Kids, Healthy Future program.

Yogapalooza: Fun Ways to Bring Peace and Calm into the Classroom

This training session will be offered on Wednesday, October 29th, during the 2025 Alabama Early Childhood Education Conference in Birmingham, AL. This conference will be hosted by the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education. In this session, participants will discuss the importance of physical activity in early childhood and how mindful movements and activities can assist in building the whole child.
